Our portfolio of field tested fluorelastomers (also known as fluoro-rubber or FKM) can be utilized in seals, o-rings, gaskets, packings and other applications where thermal stability and chemical resitance are required. If your seals exhibit thermal or chemical degradation, we can help you by analyzing your failures and recommending the appropriate grade of fluoroelastomer to solve your problem. Let us be your trusted engineer: we have been solving sealing problems with fluorelastomers since 1960.
Seals Eastern has experience formulating and molding all grades of premium quality VitonTM fluorelastomers, including other leading brands such as TechnoflonTM. As a general rule, fluoroelastomers provide exceptional resistance to heat, oils, and chemicals by substituting the hydrogen atoms in the polymer with Fluorine atoms. As a result, our fluoro-rubber formulations deliver a broad range of chemical resistance, continuous service temperatures of 400F, and low temperature capabilities down to -35F. All of our custom formulated rubber is mixed and molded in our Red Bank, NJ factory using systems certified to ISO-9001 and ISO-14001.

Most fluoroelastomers are categorized under the ASTM D1418 designation of FKM (the DIN/ISO counterpart to this designation is FPM). This class of elastomer is further categorized by types.
FEPM class polymers offer the chemical resistance and thermal stability of FKM class flouroelastomers and additionally offer excellent base resistance since there is no vinylidene fluoride in the polymer.
Do not be fooled by ultra-low cost fluoroelastomer o-rings since they often contain reground material and inferior fluorocarbon copolymers. Cheap imports will deliver inferior performance. Seals Eastern guarantees its fluorelastomer seals are made using 100% virgin fluoro-polymers from brand name producers and are post-cured in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendation.
